Why I joined IPN
Dr. Mayer recognizes that, unfortunately, the medical care system is changing; the health care environment is gradually becoming more corporatized and impersonal. Due to an effort to maximize corporate profits, health care corporations and payers increasingly attempt to regulate physicians’ practices. Often, these corporate profits not only serve to impede quality patient care but also contribute to collective physician stress, low morale, and burnout.
However, for Dr. Mayer, it is of the utmost importance to offer patients the best care possible despite this changing medical care environment. Dr. Mayer appreciates that IPN promotes physicians’ ability to provide high-quality healthcare. Dr. Mayer credits IPN for helping independent practices by providing physician members the tools and valuable educational resources they need to operate successfully in the shifting environment.
Along with promoting high-quality healthcare and physician education, Dr. Mayer claims IPN has provided his practice with an effective process to coordinate cost-effective, quality patient care services. In this fluctuating system, the support and stability offered through IPN are beneficial to independent physicians. It is because of these reasons that Dr. Mayer is an IPN member physician and serves as a director.
